Remove a non-empty directory in Linux

How to delete non-empty folders in Linux systems

Applies to Ubuntu, CentOS, Red Hat, Fedora, Debian, FreeBSD.

sudo rm -rf <yourDirectoryName>

Or:

sudo rm -rf /path/to/directory

-f : ignore non-existent files, never prompt
-r : remove directories and their contents recursively
